Splicing A Form

In search for how I might actually produce my new concept designs, I have discovered a way I can slice a form into sections using Grasshopper. What this means is I can create a matrix of panels which fit together to create a representation of the form. Below you can see how the grasshopper definition uses x and y planes to slice through the surface and create sections of that surface along the relative plane.

I could potentially CNC each of those section out of flat panel wood or other materials. I would have to develop a method to make sure I fit them together in to correct order otherwise it would become a very difficult puzzle! But it is defiantly do-able. Below is the effect when you make these fitted panels into the base of the coffee tables I have been designing-
