Sweating Out the Wax For Glass

Before firing the glass, just like bronze, I needed to burn out the wax to give a hollow mould with a negative of the form inside. However, due to the fragile flint and plaster mould you need to sweat out the wax with steam instead of using a flame. For about 2 hours I exposed the mould to a steady stream of steam which caused the wax to melt and then pour out. I then let this dry a bit overnight before putting it in the kiln.
