Making the Glass Mould

I have now made the flint and plaster mould for the glass sun form. I had to create two jackets around the piece with the outer layer being reinforced with Fiberglass strands and wire mesh. This is because flint and plaster becomes very weak and brittle when it comes in contact with continual heat; there is going to be a large volume of glass inside the mould, so the pressures being exerted by the glass on the mould will be high. Below is a video of the process of making the mould ( you can see how I didn’t make quite enough so had to top up the mix)-
