The forms which proposed the biggest challenge for mould making were the Sun and Venus due to their size and complexity. I am going to make the moulds by creating a plaster jacket which surrounds the piece, but doesn’t touch it. This is achieved by coating the piece in Plasticine and pouring plaster over the Plasticine. Then you take the Plasticine out and pour in silicon to create the silicone mould I need. Below is the first stages of this process; making the first half of the mould by dividing the piece in half, making sure there are no undercuts-
The next stage is to pour the plaster onto the Plasticine.
I have also made the moulds for my resin pieces which also need Silicone moulds.
