Immaterial

Timo Arnall, Jørn Knutsen, and Einar Sneve Martinussen have built a measuring rod for visualising the immaterial Wifi networks in cities. What is interesting about their work is how they bring to life data which is otherwise invisible yet resent around us all the time. They walk around with the Wifi measurement rod and take different exposures of the light at different points visualising the Wifi data creating forms that we otherwise wouldn’t see. I find this an interesting way of using data that we cant see, showing us what is around us, unknowingly all the time.
